The commission base have a huge difference, you hardly see a car sales agent make $300k a year but a better real estate agent can reach that target easily
u get an average of 1-1.5% per house transaction... even if you put 75% back to your brokerage.. you still take 0.25%-0.75% of the commission.. on an average house of $850K, you get $2100 - $6300 in commission.. if you sell 1 house a month.. that's a salary of $25,200 - $75,000 per year... but i hear that for cars.. you get like $500-$1000 in commission in your everyday car... may be more if you do luxury cars like Ferrari's or Lambo.. but transaction is definitely not high compared to real estate agent.
Real estate realtor makes more, just by sheer numbers. But, real estate realtor market is EXTREMELY saturated because the barrier to entry is extremely low. What makes you stand out is your personality and people's skills.
